Handmade Moroccan Leather

Our handmade leather handbags, purses, and wallets are crafted in the world-famous Moroccan Tanneries!

There is a rich tradition in Morocco of creating high quality leather goods. Leather is used from cows, sheep, goats and camels. Not wanting to waste anything, the hides from these animals are taken and sold to the tanneries after the meat has been taken and sold for consumption. The hides go through a multistep process to be softened, cured, and dyed to be fashioned into leather ready for the tailor.

All of the leather goods in our store are either made in the region or purchased from shops among the Imazighen, or Berbers, of the greater Atlas region.
